Thorner Preschool (OFSTED Outstanding 2017) is located adjacent to Thorner Church of England Primary School at the heart of Thorner village. We welcome children from the age of two. Our six members of staff offer individual attention, fun and friendship. The ratio of one adult to every six children provides a total of 24 places. We work within the OFSTED and EYFS frameworks. The group is managed by a voluntary committee. Everyone is welcome to become involved whether it be with fundraising or at committee level. Thorner Pre-School and Toddler Group is a registered charity (No.1036320). We work in line with the Early Year's Foundation Stage (EYFS) - for a parent's guide to the EYFS please have a look at the information provided via the following web address: http://www.foundationyears.org.uk/files/2014/08/EYFS_Parents_Guide-amended.pdf Staff promote British Values within our setting. We ask children about their current interests and allow them to be involved in making decisions. We help children understand their own and each others behaviours, and that these behaviours have consequences. We provide exciting opportunities to increase self-esteem, such as learning a new skill with our football and dance classes. We promote diverse attitudes and beliefs through the children sharing stories of experiences outside of Preschool. Culture is celebrated, by learning about festivals such as Diwali, Christmas and Chinese New Year. Thorner Preschool is GDPR compliant and you can view a copy of our Fair Processing Notice in our Preschool cloakroom. If you would like to know more about how we process your data, please contact us by phone or email. |
