How Are Meals Handled?
Each child staying from 9-3pm or for our 12-3pm afternoon session will need to be provided with a healthy packed lunch (please get in touch if you would like some ideas as to what to provide). Children and staff eat together which makes for a collaborative and happy lunchtime. Please bring your child's lunch in a labelled lunch box / bag, and put it on the shelf in the cloakroom. In our recent OFSTED inspection, it was recommended that each child brings a named water bottle on a daily basis.
What Should My Child Bring?
Although aprons are worn for messy activities such as painting, it is inevitable that children will get dirty. It is therefore recommended that you do not dress your child in their best clothes.
Where possible we try to take the children outside to play. It is common sense but please ensure they have suitable warm clothes in the winter and in the summer please send a hat and have all day long suncream applied before coming to Pre-school. Please bring some indoor shoes (pumps / slippers) for your child to change into and wellingtons for outdoor play.
Healthy snacks such as toast, fruit, veg sticks, houmous and malt loaf are provided in both morning and afternoon sessions. The children also bake snacks in Pre-school, such as flapjacks, banana loaf and ginger bread.
If your child is still in nappies, please ensure you pack enough nappies/ nappy sacks / wipes each day. Unfortunately we do not have the facility to dispose of them so you will be asked to take them home at the end of each session. We also recommend that you pack sufficient changes of clothing in case of accidents.
What Are The Opening Times?
Full day care is available to preschool children between 7:45am – 6pm Monday to Friday.
The standard day is divided into 2 sessions. The morning session commences at 9am and ends 12pm. A snack and drink are provided but not lunch. The afternoon session commences at 12pm and finishes at 3pm. A snack is provided in the afternoon. We also recommend that you send your child with a named water bottle daily.
Out of hours care is also available from 7:45am - 9am and 3pm to 6pm. Holiday clubs are in operation out of standard term times.
What Are The Costs?
What Happens When We Arrive?
On arrival your child can find their name and hang up their coat, put their lunch box on the shelf and change into indoor shoes.
The session starts at 9am and we would appreciate it if you would wait in the cloakroom area until the staff open the door. We are not insured to have children in the room before this time
Please change your child’s outdoor shoes into pumps or trainers in order to minimise the amount of dirt brought into the Pre-school room!
